Naming The 1889 Society
Founded in 1889, Deaconess Abundant Life Services is the Greater Boston area’s only not-for-profit home care provider. To honor its long history of compassionate care, Deaconess partnered with our team to create a modern, refined brand identity honoring committed donors and inspiring the next generation of giving. We were tasked with developing a distinct and memorable name for Deaconess’ planned giving society.
Working in collaboration with Deaconess leadership and Lindsley Development Consulting, we created The 1889 Society, a timeless brand that honors the organization’s rich history of philanthropy.






Logo Design & Visual Identity
The name and accompanying brand identity amplify the organization’s 132-year history, recognizing how its strength has grown over time and with careful community investment. Residents who engage with The 1889 Society are empowered to leave a legacy of giving for the next generation. The logo lockup incorporates a conceptual logo mark, depicting an abstract tree while referencing community, giving, and collaboration.
Brand Activation
From naming and visual design to the creation of a case for support and planned giving brochure, each item was intentionally designed to capture a spirit of benevolence and altruism, honoring a membership of donors committed to “caring about tomorrow.”
