Fig Announces 2017 Social Mission Partners
At Fig, we believe in the power of a community that works together to identify needs and find solutions, one that creates connections and is passionate about helping one another. Once a year, at each of Fig’s great destinations, we choose innovative non-profit organizations whose good works contribute immensely to our thriving, local communities, to become our social mission partners.
Our team gets to know more about each organization and it is our hope that our partners get more exposure through our vibrant communications package.
With a mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, the YWCA of Bethlehem is celebrating 90 years of inspiring the Bethlehem Community. YWCA Bethlehem provides a wealth of programs and services, plus special events throughout the year.
“The Anson B. Nixon Park is a gem in our community,” remarked Brianna Carlisle, Director of Fig Kennett. The park is 106 acres in the center of Kennett and hosts many community events throughout the year. The events give people access to nature and promote health and wellness, educational opportunities, increased quality of life, and added economic value. The park relies on donations from the Borough of Kennett Square and the Kennett Township, the local community, and corporations.
Clare House serves homeless women and children in a caring environment and through life-skills training and support helps lead them to self-sufficiency. Every day, Clare House receives calls from women who find themselves homeless as a result of abusive relationships, addiction, loss of employment, or simply “slipping through the system”. These women need a safe place for themselves and their children where they can turn their lives around.

Fig Columbia (South Carolina)
Make-A-Wish South Carolina grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The South Carolina non-profit believes wishes can be a game changer. In fact, medical professionals say wish experiences can improve children’s state of mind, make them more willing to comply with treatment requirements, and even influence their physical health. “Partnering with such a well-produced publication as Fig Columbia is so exciting for our chapter. Our goal is to eventually be able to grant a wish to every eligible child in South Carolina. Since we are entirely funded by donations from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and special events, the chapter is dependent on public support to be able to grant more and better wishes for local kids. We are especially grateful to Fig for allowing us the chance to work with them to tell our story and encourage more readers to support our mission,” stated Misty Farmer, director of development for Make-A-Wish South Carolina.
You will learn more about these partners in the pages of Fig throughout the year. Please join us in supporting these inspiring causes with your time and donations.
