Fig Lancaster Commercial—A City of Makers

by Rebecca Fowler

The team at Fig Industries had the opportunity to create a commercial to air on WITF-TV, the Central Pennsylvania PBS Station. Here’s a look into how our commercial, A City of Makers, came together.

Like any marketing exercise, a small team started by brainstorming ideas, understanding the importance of having a concrete objective and concise story.

In line with the mission of Fig, the team wanted to uplift the best of the City of Lancaster, continue to brand the City as a destination, and position Fig as the guide. In this spot, you will see that we showcase the thriving art and theatre scene, as well as provides a ‘taste’ of the City’s restaurants, collaborative spaces, employers, and people who make the City a great place to be.

The hardest part of working on a 30 second commercial is the number of people and businesses featured—there just isn’t enough time to feature everyone. Our thanks go to Allegro Youth Orchestra, Bistro Barberet and Bakery, Federal Taphouse, The Fridge, Fulton Theatre, Susan Gottlieb, and Williams Forrest for being a part of this commercial. MAKE Films shot and edited the video with the voice-over talent of Jessica Day Miller.
